For the photo essay I chose pictures that were taken at school. All of the photos were taken outside and most of them capture nature such as flowers or trees which I enjoy because ever since I was little I have always loved nature and being outdoors.
What is the subject for your photo essay and where did you take your photographs?
The main subject of my photo essay was flowers/nature or just the school in general because all the photos were taken at the school/outside of the school and mainly capture flowers/trees or the outdoors.
Why did you select this place?
I selected this place because there were many interesting photo opportunities of the simplest things and when you capture them the right way you can make them look much more interesting than the naked eye can see.
Why is it important to you?
This place is important to me because it's where I go to school and even though I don't always enjoy being here, it is shaping me to become a better person and preparing me to become an adult.
What concept are you trying to portray about this topic?
All of the photos are focused on one subject and all of them show nature such as flowers, trees, or even just street signs. It portrays the school and the nature surrounding it.
Visually, how did your images capture the narrative or “story” of your essay?
They all represent the outdoors and that was definitely my main goal because I love being outside and everything about nature.

All of my photos were taken outside and were arranged randomly but I feel that they all blend well together because they all have bright colors in them and they all have similar lighting.
How did you visually unify your series of photos?
My photos are unified because they all have similar lighting and are all taken on a sunny day with clouds, and most of them have similar colors in them.
